Just a little background on these turtle puppets. I had a customer request for a sea turtle puppet which I had never made before. These turtles are from the process of developing my own pattern for the initial turtle to the customer's specifications. Most of this process is finding what doesn't work until you find something that does. However, that doesn't mean that everything that didn't work can't eventually become a usable puppet. Once I figured out what did work I could go back to some of my initial attempts and actually make them into working turtle puppets. They just won't meet the specifications of my customer. You might think that each attempt would yield better results and that my last attempt before the final product would be the best. Well, not necessarily so. Actually, my third, fifth, and seventh attempts ended up being very close to the final product with number eight ending up too small to accommodate the sleeve for the neck extension. While none of these eight puppets offered meet the specifications of my customer they are very functional and quite adorable! At least I think so! I've tried to price them at an affordable price because, quite frankly, I'm overrun with turtles in my shop and need to get on with other creations.
